Shadow Councils

3 Shadow Councils Created – Muxton, Priorslee and St Georges & Donnington.

As part of a recent Community Governance Review in Telford & Wrekin there are some significant changes being made to the local parish councils in Donnington, Muxton ,St Georges and Priorslee from 1 April 2027.

Currently, Donnington, Muxton ,St Georges and Priorslee are represented by 2 parish councils, namely Donnington & Muxton Parish Council, and St Georges & Priorslee Council.

From 1 April 2027 3 new parish councils will form: Muxton Parish Council, Priorslee Parish Council and St Georges & Donnington Parish Council. The current 2 parish councils will be dissolved on 1 April 2027.

As part of the transition in to newly formed parishes Telford & Wrekin Council has issued the Telford & Wrekin (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2026, dated 21 Aug 26.

The order makes provision for the formation of Shadow Councils (for those new councils) so that they might make preparations ahead of formally coming into existence on 1 April 2027. Details of these meetings will be displayed on this website.

Elections will take place in May of 2027 to fill the seats of the newly created parish councils.
